Allah knows and you do not know. كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِتَالُ وَهُوَ كُرْهٌ لَكُمْ ۖ وَعَسَىٰ أَنْ تَكْرَهُوا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ ۖ وَعَسَىٰ أَنْ تُحِبُّوا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ شَرٌّ لَكُمْ ۗ … (2:216) fighting is ordained upon you and it is disliked by you; War is enjoined on you, even though it be disliked by you; And allah knows, while you know not.

In fact, according to ibn abbas as mentioned in ibn kathir the last ayat revealed to the prophet was ayat no. كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِتَالُ وَهُوَ كُرْهٌ لَكُمْ ۖ وَعَسَىٰ أَنْ تَكْرَهُوا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ ۖ وَعَسَىٰ أَنْ تُحِبُّوا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ شَرٌّ لَكُمْ ۗ … كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِتَالُ وَهُوَ كُرْهٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَى أَن تَكْرَهُواْ شَيْئًا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَى. (2:216) fighting is ordained upon you and it is disliked by you; And it may be that you dislike a thing and it is actually good for you and it ma. 2:1 dies ist (ganz gewiß) das buch (allahs), das keinen anlaß zum zweifel gibt, (es ist) eine rechtleitung für die gottesfürchtigen , 2:2 die an das verborgene glauben und das gebet verrichten und von dem ausgeben, was wir ihnen beschert haben , 2:3 und die an das glauben, was auf dich und vor dir.
